On 21-22 March 2009 in Pieve di Cento (BO) at the Grand Hotel Convention Center held its first trade-exhibition of sugar packets: Sweet Sugar World Meeting, organized by Sara Tagliavini, with the patronage of Comune di Pieve di Cento, Regione Emilia Romagna, Provincia di Bologna.The Sugar Collection Team was present.

We arrive in Pieve di Cento on Sunday morning, March 22, second day of the meeting, dedicated not only to our beloved sugar packets, but to any type of collecting.
The showroom, that can accommodate over a hundred exhibitors, is divided by long tables for every kind of hobby. Of course our attention is attracted by the rich and beautiful collections of sugar packets, but we look also among the table of toys, caps, cards, holy, coins, old newspapers, etc.

Waiting to meet the famous organizer Sara Tagliavini, let’s know some exhibitors.
Anne Marie Ducrocq (www.sugarmania.fr) owns more than 350,000 sugar packets, empty, full, and lumps (common in France) which she keeps in special boxes.
Mario Mori, Gavidio, is the president of Zuccherolandia (www.zuccherolandia.com), Italian non-profit Association with more than 100 subscribers. Founded in 2005, established first in Bologna and then to Colle Val d'Elsa (SI), the association promotes regular exchanges of sugar packets between the members and acts as intermediary for the realization of personal series. Gavidio has a personal collection of about 70,000 bags, all cataloged through a rich database, his web site: www.gavidio.it.

Finally we meet the busy organizer, which tells us about the meeting: the difficulties encountered to achieve it and the final success. Sara (www.sarata.it) has more than 300,000 sugar packets, collected throug 9 years; she graduated in Architecture and realizes beautiful series with their own personal designs.
In the end, we post photos of some beautiful sculptures made of sugar for the "Tutti artisti dello zucchero" (it means: “we are all artists with the sugar” ) competition at the Meeting.
